Pilgrim Guidelines

Here are some things you should know as a Pilgrim…

Please read Luke Chapter 24 several times before your walk.

You need not be concerned with transportation, as your Sponsor will be bringing you to and from the Retreat Center. Please make sure you bring any balance of money owed when you arrive.

Please plan to wear comfortable clothing, as there is no need to dress up. Be casual: jeans, T-shirts, etc. are completely appropriate. This is a time to rest in the Lord and learn what He has planned for you.

As the exact weather forecast and temperature for the weekend will be unknown (after all, this is New England!), we recommend wearing various layers of clothing to help adjust to the actual weather as appropriate.

Please bring your own personal toiletries and your Bible.

Most participants will be matched with a room-mate as necessary. Sheets, pillowcases, and towels are provided. Please feel free to bring your own, as well as anything else to make your stay more comfortable. If you would require or prefer a single room, or you have any questions, please discuss this with your Sponsor.

Please understand that your personal participation is expected from 7pm Thursday until approximately 6pm on Sunday. As each event builds on the other, you are expected to attend each and every event. This is part of this program and the reasons will become more evident during your Walk.

Your Sponsor will have explained that the goal is to provide you with an atmosphere and environment where you can focus on your time with God.  To support this, we request that there be no contact with your family or business except, of course, in an emergency.  If you haven’t already, please give your Sponsor’s contact information to your family. In case of an emergency they can contact your Sponsor and your Sponsor will contact the Retreat Center.

Please leave the following at home: Cell phones, laptops, radios, cameras, watches, or other items that may distract you from time with God. Again, this is requested so that you can focus on the weekend. If you forget and wear your watch, you will be asked to take it off and put it away on Thursday evening.  You will be provided an emergency contact phone number that will be monitored continuously so that your family can contact you in an emergency.

Please understand that each weekend is unique and that each person seems to find exactly what God wants that person to experience. You can look forward to gaining a new enthusiasm for serving God.
